Grand Centennial Fireworks

January 3, 2007

Jan. 3, 4:30 PM. Workers under Brod Jore Montelibano '69, Project Manager of MDC for the UP S&T Park, set up the huge streamer at the Commonwealth Avenue where hundreds of thousands of commuters from Fairview pass everyday.

Not with us in these photos is Aries, our Poster-Designer-For-Life, but everytime we see the streamers and posters we remember him and his team that includes, I think, Robbie, another Betan graphics artist. Thank you! Thank you! At uulitin.

7PM.  Brod Norman of the Fireworks Committee puts up the first invitation poster at the bulletin board of the UP Shopping Center, fresh from the Riso copying machine.

It is a huge streamer and commuters would not fail to see it. This is one of the streamers funded by the publication fund donated by Brod Alfonso Daco '62. The streamer could stay there even days after the event for extended play for BE PR mileage.

Jore and his crew Jore and Mon

Norman, our poster contractor and Mon had the posters risoed at the UP Shopping Center.

The first person to whom we gave a copy was former UP President Nemenzo.

Norman and Mon posted the first 2 posters on the bulletin board.

Bro gives the thumbs up on the samples
"Poster" boys Our first posted poster
The first 3 persons who took a look at the invitational posters. We should have given them some kind of a prize or memento.

◄ Norman with his favorite UP president, Dodong Nemenzo, who was accompanying an apo for some xeroxing job. So we invited him to the fireworks and gave a copy of the posters. He remembers that we have been sponsoring the fireworks since our 75th anniversary which he attended.

You can say this is some lucky day for us three.
