years of the college of engineering in 2010. (What is the average IQ of
this photo? One cup of brewed coffee to the brod who can give the right
answer.) |

Because the day was Friday the 13th we were careful to have them pose under clear skies
to protect her precious head from possible harm.

The Beta
Way
Our resident brods set up the
bagged lighted candles and the banderritas. At this time, 9PM, about only
half of the candles were lighted. Earlier, at 5 PM, the parade of students
and staff filled up the Beta Way. We will post those photos later. |

UP Diliman had heavy rains
in the two afternoons before the homecoming but on the day itself the
skies cleared up and we even had a moon. Friday the 13th was a lucky day
for engineers.
By the way the venue was set
up, we knew there was no Plan B in case it would rain since all those
tables and chairs for alumni could not be accommodated under the tent.
Plan B was with the angels and saints at Santa Clara monastery.
I heard the emcee announced that the attendance this year exceeded that of
last year. Our Betan attendance was also more than last year with an
initial count of at least 86 brods, and still counting. |
|
▲ Joey Villar (right) was
determined to attend the homecoming --- even if it was already late in
the night still he drove to the UP campus, arriving when we were already
in the last stretch of the program, the raffle. Brods were glad to see
him. |

Brods, maraming maraming salamat sa suporta. It was great to see you all
there and to know that we can always count on our brods' support.
It just hit me that there are going to be 9 board directors in the
incoming UPAE board.. out of 15! A clear indication from the UP
Engineering community how much they respect and look up to BE. With the
mandate comes huge responsibility on our shoulders to ensure we will have
a productive and results-oriented UPAE board. We hope we will continue to
have the support of all brods (alumni and residents) as we prove to all
that we deserve their trust and confidence in BE.
Again, salamat po sa inyong lahat !
Mabuhay !
