UP Centennial Christmas Fireworks

Video and some initial fotos

Here are some photos of the crowd during the fireworks.

Brods,

I left home after lunch and missed da Prexy Vic's last minute email on where the fireworks launching area would be, so I assumed that my first data was correct -- that it would be somewhere in the Mass Com area. .

I therefore positioned myself at the enclosed area reserved for UP officials (where I met UP officer Miren escorted by her husband Brod Alex). I  set up my tripod and the videocam pointed in the direction of the Mass Com area..I had a perfect view, unobstructed view of the night sky over Masscom

Then the countdown from 10 to 1 by the master showman, Professor Joey began.  When the first salvo of pyrotechnics briedghten up the sky, lo and behold, the launching area was a full 90 degrees to the left!

I had to shift but unfortunately could not move around because of the great mass of people. That is why, there is this street light that is smack in the center of the fireworks and it stays there for all the 7.5 minutes.

I also found out that my location was not very far from the launching area and when the rockets fly high and the pyros burst out in the sky they are all out of the camera frame.

Nevertheless, you can still have a nice view of the fireworks which all the people around enjoyed. The emcee also announced a few times that the sponsor is Beta Epsilon.
